Jxiv has previously accepted only non-peer-reviewed manuscripts. The system will be changed so that authors can submit peer-reviewed manuscripts and published manuscripts if permission is gained from the relevant journals. We will accept translations as secondary publications if they satisfy the requirements stated in the Submission Terms. Moreover, we will state the article type you can submit to Jxiv, e.g. original research papers, review papers, overview papers, and lecture notes.
Jxiv will revise our Submission Terms and Browsing Terms on March 28, 2024. After this date it will be possible to submit peer-reviewed manuscripts, published manuscripts, translations, and lecture notes to be posted in Jxiv.
The increase in the number of displayed preprint downloads due to security measures (October to January) has been corrected. The Downloads graph currently displayed on the landing page shows the proper number of downloads.
We sincerely apologize to all authors for any inconvenience caused.
The security measures implemented by Jxiv at the end of October 2022 resulted in an increase in the number of displayed preprint downloads from the end of October to the beginning of January. Therefore, the Downloads graph displayed on the landing page shows approximately 100 more accesses per month as a result of the security measures. (The numbers for October and January are lower than this because only a few days were affected by this issue.) Since January 4, countermeasures have been implemented and the number of accesses due to security measures is no longer counted. The above-mentioned increase in the number of accesses will be corrected at a later date during maintenance. Jxiv sincerely apologizes for the delay in notifying authors of this matter and in our response.
Jxiv has previously required all authors to include a Contribution and Conflicts of Interest Disclosure in the main body of the preprint. We have now created a box for Conflicts of Interest Disclosure to be described at the time of Jxiv submission, and changed to display this disclosure on the preprint screen. Jxiv will revise our Submission Terms on January 13, 2023. For submissions after this date, the disclosure of author's Contribution and Conflicts of Interest Disclosure will be optional in the main body of the preprint.
Many journals encourage or permit authors to post a preprint of their submitted manuscript. The following Japanese society journals allow authors the submission of manuscripts published on Jxiv and other preprint servers.
Caution: Preprints are research manuscripts that have not yet undergone peer review. Any reported results are preliminary and may be subject to change. They should not be considered conclusive or reported in news media as established information. Inclusion of a preprint on Jxiv does not imply that its contents or quality is endorsed by JST.
