Abstract

In this study, research trends in autoimmune diseases in Japan, the U.S., and the U.K. were investigated based on the number of articles published in major leading journals, and a detailed examination of research increase/decrease trends was conducted, revealing changes and characteristics of research activities in each nation. While research on Rheumatoid Arthritis in each nation shows a decreasing trend after 2018, research on Myasthenia Gravis shows an increasing trend after 2019. In addition, it was found that Japan leads the world in research on IgG4-related diseases, Behcet's disease, and Autoimmune Pancreatitis. The results of this study are reported here because they provide important guidelines for future research directions in Autoimmune Diseases by clarifying research differences and commonalities between Japan and other countries.
