Abstract

This paper examines four self-oriented values inherent in degree conferral policies and competencies within higher education: self-assertiveness, self-realization, self-fulfillment, and self-esteem. This paper identifies one of the ideological sources of these values and examines the process of their formation against the backdrop of neoliberal capitalism, along with the challenges they have brought about.
