Abstract

This paper focuses on theoretical system of Merger & Acquisition Strategy. Competitive Advantage is being discussed using the theory of Practice-Oriented discussion and Resource Based View. The fundamental difference between the two approaches is, while using the theory of Practice-Oriented discussion, Competitive Advantage is able to be built through Strategic Investment. As one type of Strategic Investment, the strategy of Merger and Acquisition haven` t been formally discussed relating to the theories of Competitive Advantage. In fact, the theoretical progress of M&A Strategy is not systematic and causality between M&A Strategy and Competitive Advantage is not clear enough. In this paper, I draw on the literature of M&A Strategy, Competitive Strategy and Strategic Investment, to discuss the theoretical system of M&A Strategy from the perspectives of Competitive Strategy. At last, evaluating Value(profitability) of M&A Strategy will be analyzed based on the theoretical system of M&A Strategy.
