サイエンスは人類の生活の基盤を整備し、新たなイノベーションの源泉ともなってきた。しかし、サイエンスに研究環境の競争激化、研究の再現性の危機など様々な課題が出てきている。近年ブロックチェーンなどのWeb3テクノロジーを利用して、サイエンスの課題を解決しようとする分散型サイエンス(DeSci)のムーブメントが生まれてきた。DeSciにおいて、非代替性トークン(NFT)のP2Pの取引による研究者の新たなファンディングや、サイエンスデータや知的財産取引の新たなマーケットプレイスの誕生、自律分散型組織(DAO)による研究プロジェクト支援、ブロックチェーンを利用した研究の透明性を高める仕組みなどについてすでに活発な議論と取り組みが始まっている。本報告では、DeSciを支援するWeb3コミュニティの思想的背景、DeSciエコシステム、課題について概観する。
