抄録

間接資材EC最大手の株式会社MonotaRO(以下、モノタロウ)の競争力の源泉は何か?本稿は、WTA(Winner-Take-All)の3つの攪乱要因であるマルチホーミングコスト、ニッチ市場の数と規模、市場成長という観点から同社の事業戦略を明らかにすることを目的とした。 モノタロウは、マルチホーミング・コストの視座では、WTA 要因を満たすことで顧客基盤維持とさらなる顧客獲得をも誘発すると同時に、ニッチ市場の数と大きさの視座では、WTA の攪乱要因を満たすことで現在の地位を確立しているというインプリケーションが得られた。一方、市場成長の視座からは、むしろモノタロウを取り巻く中小規模
専門商社や後発企業が WTA の攪乱要因を満たし、同社の事業成長の持続可否については今後の市場動向を注視すべきことが示唆された。
