老舗酒造会社の公衆衛生事業進出による両利き経営の実践

抄録

厳しい経営環境にさらされた企業がいかにして両利き経営を体現し、苦境に立たされた経営の抜本的立て直しを実現したのか。 本稿では、厳しい酒類市場環境に加えコロナ禍が追い打ちをかける中、老舗酒類会社の公衆衛生事業推進の事例をもとに、ラジカルなイノベーションを実践するための両利きの仕組みを経営幹部へのインタビューに基づき定性的に明らかにすることを目的とする。 その結果、まず経営幹部は、公衆衛生事業を担う新規事業部門と既存の酒造部門を明確に分離したうえで、既存の酒造事業で築いた潤沢なリソースを新規事業部門が最大限に活用できるようにしたことが示された。 同社は、既存の酒造部門におけるトップダウンの意思決定とは異なり、新規事業部門においてはフラットな業務遂行に基づく意思決定を迅速化することで、構造的なアプローチによる両利き経営を実現していることが示唆された。
