酵母リポミセス科に, かって,7個の属を導入しました. しかし, その全ては分類学的には認められませんでした. 本研究はその歴史的展開を追い, 本7属 Waltomyces, Zygozyma, Babjevia, Smithiozyma, Kawasakia, LimtongiaKockiozyma および Lipomyces (the type genus), Dipodascopsis, 新属 Neoaidaea の合計10個の属を本科に数えるに至りました.
