本研究は、外国にルーツをもつ児童の学校経験について、TIMSS2015・2019・2023の日本の小学4年生11,139名のデータを用いて検討した。親と本人の出生地、家庭内使用言語に着目し、学校への好意、安全感、一員である感覚、誇りとの関連を順序ロジット分析により検証した。その結果、学校への好意や誇りには明確な差がみられなかった一方、片方の親が外国出生の児童では安全感が低く、家庭で日本語以外の言語を使用する児童では学校の一員である感覚が低い傾向が確認された。また、家庭内使用言語と学校への誇りとの関連は、親の職業によって異なる可能性が示された。以上から、外国ルーツ児童の学校経験を多面的に把握し、安心感や所属意識に着目した支援の必要性を指摘した。
