本研究の目的は、論理実証主義における観察論を、ROC理論（Relational Oppositive Concept Theory）の視点から再検討し、観察の新しい理論的基盤を提示することである。論理実証主義は、観察文（protocol sentences）を科学の基礎および意味の基準として位置づけたが、観察の主語中心的理解、理論負荷性の問題、観察文の不安定性など、構造的矛盾を抱えていた。本研究は、これらの矛盾が英語の主語中心構造（SVO）に深く依存している可能性を指摘し、日本語の非主語性を示す「関係的観察」の存在を教育実践のデータから明らかにする。
ROC理論は、観察を「する／される」の対概念関係として捉え、観察を主語中心の行為ではなく、概念構造の中に生じる関係的出来事として再定義する。この立場は、観察の理論負荷性を自然に説明し、検証原理の破綻を乗り越える新しい意味論を提供する。また、生徒の観察記述に見られる非主語的・関係的表現は、ROC理論の観察理解と整合し、観察が本質的に関係構造に依存することを示唆する。
本研究は、観察論の再構築を通じて、科学哲学における観察の基礎づけ問題に新たな視点を提供するとともに、理科教育学における観察指導や誤概念研究の再検討にも寄与する。ROC理論は、観察を関係的構造として捉える新しい観察論として、科学哲学と教育学の架橋を可能にする。
