新商品開発プロセスにおける革新的生産技術の選択 -液晶ディスプレイ向け高機能フィルム量産化の事例分析-

本研究では、富士フイルムのWVフィルムを事例とした定性的なケーススタディを通して、企業が新製品開発において生産技術をどのように選択するのかを明らかにする。事例では、富士フイルムはまず既存技術を用いてサンプルを提供して顧客ニーズを把握すると同時に、量産を目的とした新技術を開発し、商業化の要請があった時点で新技術に切り替え、迅速な量産を実現した。この結果は、新製品開発プロセスにおける生産技術の選択では、並行開発とタイムリーな切り替えが効果的であり、その選択の理由として、そして生産性向上や特許保有といった将来的な競争上のインセンティブを示唆した。
