比喩的表現と読み時間について

本研究は，日本語の読み時間と，広い意味での比喩的表現との関係を検討するものである。比喩言語処理に関する先行研究では，比喩的表現は追加的な認知的コストを課し，読み時間を延長させる可能性があると指摘されている一方，文脈的・構造的要因によっては，比喩言語が字義通りの表現と同程度に効率的に処理されうることも示されている。本研究では客観的な結果を得るため，自己ペース読み課題に基づくBCCWJ-SPR2 コーパスの読み時間データと，比喩表現に関する包括的なアノテーション資源であるBCCWJ-Metaphor を用いて評価を行った。分析の結果，比喩表現の開始位置および内部において特有の読解パターンが観察された。
