環境変化に直面した後継世代の戦略への創業者レガシーの影響

抄録

本論文では、環境の変化に対する後継世代の戦略的適応に対する創業者レガシーの影響について述べた。そのために、高知県で湿式不織布の製造販売を手掛けている廣瀬製紙株式会社の事例研究について詳細に述べた。同社の創業者の廣瀬晋二は、日本で初めてビニロンを原料とする合成繊維紙の抄造に成功した。そして、100%ビニロン紙をアルカリ・マンガン乾電池のセパレータに応用し、当該分野でニッチトップを達成した。さらに、最先端の合成繊維紙に資源を集中的に投資するコア技術戦略を確立した。また、「我々は、開発型企業として、独自の優れた技術で差別化製品を多種生産し、その機能を売ることにより競争に勝つ」とするアイデンティティを確立した。それらは、ともに創業者レガシーとして、後継者に承継された。同社の後の従業員の岸本吉則は、創業者のアイデンティティを拠り所として、ナノファイバーの紡糸とナノファイバー不織布に単独で成功した。また、同社の現社長は、新型コロナ禍という環境の変化を追い風として、ナノファイバー不織布の新規事業を創造した。同社の事例では、戦略的レガシーとしてのコア技術戦略が後継世代の環境変化への適応を可能とした。また、創業者アイデンティティが後継世代の技術革新と新規事業創造をドライブした。
